February 2018 Employees of the Month Jeremy Badertscher, Rich Gannon, Scott Clayton

FEBRUARY 2018 EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH

On behalf of the Council and I, it is my pleasure to recognize three employees of the month this month. While I realize this is an unusual number to recognize, as it is normally just one employee at a time, we made a special exception to this norm because these three employees went above and beyond their dangerous normal duties to literally help save a young man in trouble.

SCAM ALERT

SCAM ALERT:

Milton-Freewater residents, be aware that there is a scam going on in which citizens are receiving a phone call from a person calling him or herself “Officer Cook” from the Milton-Freewater Police Department.  They then tell the victim citizen that he or she was due in court for jury, and that since they did not show up, they must pay $2000 as some sort of penalty.  The citizen apparently is told they need to stay on the phone line with the perpetrator, then go to City Hall to somehow make the payment.

January Employee of the Month Laurel Sweeney

JANUARY 2018 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

On behalf of the Council and staff, it is my pleasure to recognize LAUREL SWEENEY as our January 2018 Employee of the Month.

Laurel joined our team as a planning assistant in November of 2015. We were amazed and very grateful to have someone with her credentials and education---including a Master’s Degree in Planning. And no doubt about it, Laurel has brought a great deal to our Planning and Community Development Departments. In September of last year, she was promoted to City Planner.

November Employee of the Month!

On behalf of the Mayor and City Council, it is my pleasure to recognize or November 2017 Employee of the Month:

JASON SCHAFFNER

Jason is relatively new to our team- starting with the City in June of this year. Jason is our Code Enforcement Officer and anyone who is familiar with City Government knows that job can be tough, thankless, and stressful. Jason has hit the ground running and his enthusiasm for the job has never waned.
