Did you know?

  • The Milton-Freewater Municipal Code Requires Dog Licensing for all dogs over six (6) months of age
  • The maximum number of adult dogs allowed at any residence is three (3)
  • Boarding and Breeding Operations/Kennels are not allowed within the Cityof Milton-Freewater
  • A valid Rabies vaccination is required to purchase a dog license.

Why should I license my dog?

  • You can be cited for failure to comply with the City Code
  • License Tags are a GREAT form of identification
  • Dogs that are licensed are much more likely to be taken home rather than impounded by Code Enforcement if they are found running loose
  • Dog Licensing funds support Code Enforcement services

How to report an animal problem

  • Try talking to the person who owns the dog, some issues can be solved on a neighborly level
  • If you are not comfortable talking to the owner of if it doesn't resolve the issue call and report the issue to Code Enforcement
  • If the situation was reported and got better for a short time and is now a problem again be sure to report the new complaint sode that Code Enforcement knows that this needs to be addressed again.

Please report all issues by calling: 541-938-5511

What to do in an animal emergency

  • Stay Calm: getting panicked will only agitate an injured animal more
  • Be Careful: even the most beloved family pet will bite as a response to pain
  • Call your veterinarian and seek veterinary advice regarding the situation to determine if your pet needs to be seen immediately
  • For badly injured strays you can: Take the animal inform treatment at your expense or call Dispatch for Code Enforcement (funds are very limited for injured animals)
