ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RELEASED ON CITY MANAGER CANDIDATES

3/15/24 CITY MANAGER CANDIDATE UPDATE!! 
Staff has been given the green light to release additional information on the City Manager candidates.

Ben Burgener: Currently serving as City Manager of Stansfield, OR – population 2,500 (since 2019). Additional service as City Administrator of Ada, Minnesota and short term positions with Utah State Department of Transportation and private sector firms.

Parks and Recreation

The City of Milton-Freewater maintains approximately 52 acres of parks city-wide.  From mowing lawns, weed control, irrigation, general maintenance and restroom upkeep (March through October) our staff is constantly on the move to provide great outdoor recreation opportunities for our citizens and visitors.

UPDATE: WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

The City Council authorized an application for a Community Development Block Grant at their regular city council meeting on March 11, 2024 for a water system improvement project in the city.  The grant request will be for $1.5 million dollars and if awarded, would be used for the design phase, along with permitting, environmental reporting cultural resources and other mandated requirements for a project of this scope.  The water system improvement project would secure additional water supply, improve our storage capacity, and improve water system reliability by constructing a new Middle Res

City Manager Recruitment Update

The council voted to interview four candidates with one alternate at their Special Meeting on February 26, 2024.  There will be a meet and greet for citizens to meet the candidates on March 25, 2024 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at the Community Building.  Interviews will take place the next day, March 26, 2024.  Once more information becomes available it will be released.
