City History

Milton and Freewater began as two separate cities.  The area is rich in history, and a short account of the beginning of the two towns and development of the surrounding area is set forth below.  For more information, we encourage you to visit the Frazier Farmstead Museum web site.

The Human Resource Office is responsible for:

City Recorder

The City Recorder serves as assistant to the City Manager, Clerk of the Council, Records Management Officer, and Elections Official. The City Recorder is responsible for preparation and distribution of agenda and informational packets for all Council meetings, recording the minutes of all Council and Budget Committee meetings, and overseeing all legal requirement for elections, public meetings and hearings, records management, and the publication of ordinances.

If you have any information about possible criminal or other suspicious activity you witness or experience please fill out the following form with as much detail as you can. Your submission will be sent to the Police Chief. If the Police Department is unable to locate the activity you are reporting, you may be contacted with the information you provide below.
