Joe Humbert Family Aquatic Center is OPEN on a limited schedule 7/28/2020 update

7/28/2020

The Joe Humbert Family Aquatic Center in Milton Freewater will remain open, but with some restrictions to maximum capacity, use of the slides and deep end of the pool. Maximum capacity of the pool will be capped at 50 patrons, and the slides and deep end of the pool will be closed for now.

Hours of operation will remain the same, although we will be cleaning the pool more frequently during the day which will result in one or two brief 30 minute breaks during the day to allow staff to thoroughly clean and sanitize.

Swimming Pool Closed Today, July 24, 2020 and tomorrow, July 25, 2020

UPDATE: Experts working on our pool have recommended that our pool remain closed tomorrow (Saturday, 7/25/20) as well as today while we await the resolution of mechanical issues. We are working hard to resolve these, but as stated before, we will always err on the side of public safety first.

Fireworks after the 4th

ILLEGAL FIREWORKS

Now that the 4th of July is over, it’s past time to stop setting off fireworks.  Granted, not all fireworks are unlawful in and of themselves, but the fireworks still being set off and heard in the city are illegal.

In Oregon, any “firework” that actually explodes with a LOUD BANG, shoots into the air, or moves more than six feet across the ground is unlawful.  Even owning such a firework, whether or not it used, is a misdemeanor crime and could make the owner/possessor subject to arrest.
