Master Plan

Milton-Freewater Parks and Recreation Master Plan

In 2018, the City was awarded a Local Government planning grant from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department to develop a Parks and Recreation Master Plan (grant #LG18-035).  Starting in the early 2019, the City worked for over a year and a half  with the community to develop a citywide Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The recently adopted Plan will guide the City's efforts for providing high quality, community-driven parks, trails and recreational opportunities across Milton-Freewater.

Citizen input was crucial to make sure recreational goals and priorities align with community needs and desires. There were several opportunities for public input participation, including a community survey, public meetings and stakeholder discussions.

The Parks and Recreation Master Plan was adopted by the City Council at the July 13, 2020 council meeting.  The completed plan is available at the link below.
