Public Transportation
The City of Milton-Freewater is proud to supply two different public transportation programs--a general ridership intercity bus and a senior and disabled taxi service. Please click on the links below for further information on each of these programs.
Bus Service
The City's bus system runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between Milton-Freewater and Walla Walla on a fixed route. Cost is $1.00 for each way, or $30.00 monthly passes are available from the Finance Department at City Hall. Click here for the schedule.
Senior and Disabled Taxi Service
The City of Milton-Freewater contracts with German Graves dba G.G. Taxi and Limo Service for extended taxi transportation services to senior and/or disabled citizens residing within a five-mile radius from the City center, Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Under the City’s program, which has enjoyed success for 38 years, disabled citizens any age and senior citizens age 60 years and older who reside within the city limits of the City of Milton-Freewater, and also reside within a five-mile radius of city center, are eligible for the taxi ticket program. Residents within the city limits may purchase as many tickets as they wish for $1.00 each. For residents within the five-mile radius of our city limits but do not actually reside within, each may purchase as many tickets as they wish for $2.00 each. Each ticket is good for a one-way trip within the City and its five-mile radius beyond. This user fee has remained the same since June of 1991.
To register, contact German Graves at 386-1224, City Hall at 541-938-5531 or Teresa Dutcher at 541-938-8243. Taxi tickets may be purchased in person at City Hall or with debit/credit cards by phone at 541-938-5531 and the tickets will be mailed. Please note: Taxi tickets are required for service during contract days and hours. Please register and purchase as many or as few tickets you need. Click here for details.
