The fire department has maintained a insurance classification of Class 4 since May 1, 1989. To insure the best possible rating the continued training of personnel in safety and effective firefighting skills is most important. Training meetings are conducted with the training officer serving as liaison for classroom presentation of firefighting techniques. Burn permits are issued through the dispatch center and can be obtained by calling 541-938-8256. Only yard debris is allowed to be burned inside the city limits. |
