Emergency Management

The City of Milton-Freewater is proactive in planning for emergency situations.  This page will provide information on how you can help prepare yourself, your family and your business for emergencies.

Preparing for Emergencies

CERT (Community Emergency Reponse Team) Flyer

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program trains people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.  The fall training schedule is listed below.  All sessions take place at the Herb Saager Fire Station at Robbins and N.E. 6th, with the exception of the October 9 training.  You are not required to pre-register.  For more information contact Shane Garner, Fire Chief, by email at shane.garner@milton-freewater-or.gov, or by phone at 938-8256, from 7:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., or after 4:00 p.m. contact Teresa Dutcher at ekim_123@msn.com  phone 938-7049.
