Uniform Housing Code

The purpose of the Uniform Housing Code is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controlling the use or occupancy, location and maintenance of all residential buildings and structures within the City limits.

The provisions of this code shall apply to all buildings or portions thereof used, or designed or intended to be used, for human habitation.

Any person who has concerns regarding the health and safety of a building used as a residence within the City Limits is asked to submit a written complaint to the Building Specialist.

Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings

The purpose of this code is to provide a just, equitable and practical method, to be cumulative with and in addition to any other remedy provided by the Housing Code, Building Code or otherwise available by law, whereby buildings or structures within the City Limits which from any cause endanger the life, limb, health, morals, property, safety, or welfare of the general public or their occupants may be required to be repaired, vacated or demolished.

The provisions of this code shall apply to all dangerous buildings as defined in this code, which are now in existence or which may hereafter become dangerous in this jurisdiction.

Any person who has concerns regarding the safety of a building located within the City Limits is asked to submit a written complaint to the Building Specialist.
